Explore our list of machines

Below is a variety of testing equipment in our state-of-the-art test facility and the tests they provide.

Baldwin Tensile & Compression

Baldwin Tensile & Compression

The tensile / compression machine is used to test the integrity of connectors and materials. This machine is capable of applying a tension or compressive force up to 120,000 lbs.

Current Cycle Room

Current Cycle Room

The Current Cycle Room contains 12 banks, each of which monitors temperature and resistance. Capacity is 5VAC at 3,000 Amps, depending on conductor size and length.

Dielectric Tester

Dielectric Tester

Dielectric testing is used to test the integrity of insulated products. The HIPOTRONICS model HD100 is capable of testing to 15kV at 5mA AC and 40kV at 5mA DC.

Hydraulics Lab

Hydraulics Lab

The MAX PRO is a 3-bay hydraulic tester used to perform life cycle testing of new and existing products. Cycle count, maximum and minimum hydraulic pressures are recorded.

Machine Shop

Machine Shop

The Model Shop is where test fixtures and prototypes of new product designs are machined. Capabilities include multiple CNC mills, lathes, and an Electrical Discharge Machine.

Metallurgy Lab

Metallurgy Lab

Metallurgy analysis and testing services include sectioning, grinding, polishing, etching, mechanical, destructive, and non-destructive testing for a wide range of metal materials.

Oven Conditioning - Tenney

Oven Conditioning - Tenney

The heat chambers are used to condition parts before testing to determine the effects of temperature to a maximum of 176º C (350º F).

Riehle Tensile Machine

Riehle Tensile Machine

The horizontal tensile machine is used for testing high tension overhead components. This machine is capable of testing samples up to 60 feet and applying a force up to 100,000 lbs.

Salt Fog Machine

Salt Fog Machine

This is used to expose material to various percentages of salt solution at elevated temperatures. Exposure will determine the corrosive effects on samples.

Secureness Tester

Secureness Tester

The secureness test is part of the UL / CSA qualification sequence. The testing replicates movement the connections could see in real life applications.

Short Time Current

Short Time Current

The short circuit tester is used to apply current to grounding connectors. The system capacity is 144 kVA with a 12 Volt maximum output at 12 000 A.

Spectrometer

Spectrometer

The optical emission spectrometer is used to measure the chemical makeup of metals to determine the elements contained within a material and how it compares to its grade.

Temp & Humidity Environmental Chamber

Temp & Humidity Environmental Chamber

This is used to expose parts to various humidity and temperature. Relative humidity range is from 20% -100%, and temperature range is from -70ºC - 150ºC.

INSTRON Tensile Tester

INSTRON Tensile Tester

The tensile / compression machine tests medium gauge wire connectors and materials. It is capable of testing samples up to 2.5 feet and applying a force of up to 11,250 lbs.

SATEC Tensile Tester

SATEC Tensile Tester

The tensile / compression machine tests smaller gauge wire connectors and materials. It is capable of testing samples up to 2.5 feet and applying a force of up to 5,000 lbs.
