Meet our 2019 Summer Intern. Larissa Shipton!
It is National Intern day on 25th July and we’re delighted to take the opportunity to introduce our 2019 Marketing Intern, Larissa Shipton. Larissa joined the Marketing team based at Chalmit in Glasgow, but performs a dual role supporting Hawke International and the recent launch of our new Cable Gland ranges.
Each member of the Hubbell Internship is assigned a project for the duration of their time with the business. Larissa’s main project as part of the programme is to work on optimising the Cable Glands product pages on our website to improve user experience for our customers. Her research included investigating what users were searching for and ensuring our website can best satisfy the information they required.
Immediately, Larissa integrated into our fast-paced office and quickly became a valuable asset to the Marketing team.
The Hubbell Internship programme allows the interns. to not only work within their own departments, but the opportunity to work with a range of departments across the business, to gain experience their operations and the role they play. This included spending time with Regional Sales Manager, Steven McEwan visiting some of our key distribution partners, to find out more about the crucial role they play in conjunction with our Sales Department.
“I was welcomed into the Marketing team, and the Chalmit office, and have enjoyed my time getting to know the business. Developing my project and it’s outcomes has given me an exciting insight into the benefits of not only SEO, but many other business functions.”

Studying Business Management and Comparative Literature at St Andrews University. Larissa’s experience in studying Marketing, Accounting and Statistics has been put to good use during her internship. Away from her studies, Larissa is an outdoor girl, enjoying rock climbing at many varied Scottish locations at every spare opportunity.
