Chance BPF Switches are use to bypass and isolate substation reclosers for routine maintenance. The BPF is usually accompanied with a separately mounted M3S disconnect switch. The BPF switch consists of a 600A Load Break Disconnect Switch in series with a Chance Type C Cutout fuse holder which provides overcurrent protection to the circuit while the recloser is out of service. Both devices are mounted on a common mounting channel for ease of installation. Both 100A and 200A fuse holders are available depending on the specific application. The BPF Switch is available in ratings of 15kV 110kV BIL and 27kV 150kV BIL. The insulators are 3" B.C TR Rated Station class porcelain insulators and the fuse holders can be either on the left hand side or right hand side of the switch.
