MPT700TS with Transfer Switch Pilot Series Soft Start Fire Pump Controllers utilize a solid state motor controller. The motor voltage is raised to an adjustable initial torque value. The motor voltage is gradually increased during the acceleration ramp time, max. of 10 seconds per NFPA 20. After a minimum run time and all starting causes have returned to normal, the controller will initiate a ramp down process by smoothly decelerating the motor at an adjustable rate to a stop. This smooth acceleration/deceleration of the motor reduces surges and water hammer in the sprinkler system. In-rush current can be adjusted as low as 25%.
