Continental has included EFV’s (Excess Flow Valves) into our fittings. For your convenience we offer both Dresser® and UMAC® EFVs. These EFVs meet or exceed D.O.T. 192.381 and MSS SP-115 standards. Both of the EFVs offered are bypass models. The bypass models automatically reset when the service line downstream is made gas tight and the pressure is equalized across the valve
EFVs are similar to electrical circuit breakers that trip when current exceeds design limits. They automatically trip when gas flow to a private residence or commercial facility exceeds design limits. This would be the case if a gas line wer to rupture because of ground movement, natural disasters or third party damage. GasBreaker EFVs are 100% factory tested in accordance with DOT 192.381 and are available prefabricated to your specifications in plastic, steel or in a wide range of tees, couplings and mechanical fitting applications.
