Retrofit Control Panels & Plates, Custom Replacement Panel Solutions for In Place Utility Control and Relay Upgrades

Retrofit Control Panels & Plates provide a practical, efficient solution for upgrading existing utility control and relay panels when full panel replacement is not feasible. Designed for in place modernization, these retrofit solutions allow utilities to update devices and layouts while minimizing disruption to existing steel, wiring, and terminal blocks.Engineered to fit within existing panel cutouts, Retrofit Control Panels & Plates support substation upgrades, life extension projects, and device replacements without the need for complete panel removal. This approach reduces outage time, limits field labor, and extends the service life of existing installations while allowing utilities to transition to newer technologies and standards.

  • In Place Retrofit Solution: Enables control and relay upgrades without removing existing panel steel or cabling
  • Minimal Field Disruption: Designed to reduce outages, labor, and site rework during upgrades
  • Custom Retrofit Plates: Engineered to fit existing panel openings using provided cutting templates
  • Supports Legacy Infrastructure: Extends the life of existing panels while supporting modern devices

Retrofit Control Panels & Plates are custom engineered for applications where removing existing panel steel and wiring is not practical. Using customer provided specifications, the existing panel face or plate is cut using a plasma torch or saw guided by a supplied cutting template. The new retrofit plate is then bolted into the cutout opening. Wiring to the retrofit is either self contained on the plate or provided through pre wired pigtails that terminate at existing terminal blocks. This approach allows new equipment to be integrated into legacy panels while preserving existing infrastructure, resulting in faster upgrades, reduced risk, and a controlled, repeatable retrofit process.
