Optimizing Wi-Fi network coverage in large commercial and industrial spaces such as warehouses and big-box stores requires strategic positioning of access points (APs) and antennas. Setting up Wi-Fi in these large spaces requires numerous APs, and installing them using conventional, universal mounting systems is time-consuming and requires additional hardware.

Hubbell Incorporated’s new, universal AP and antenna co-location clamp mounting system from AccelTex employs a universal, lockable, tool-less mounting system with four adjustable arms that securely hold the AP in place. Compatible with most enterprise APs, it reduces installation time by eliminating the need for screws or connectors.

The new clamping system, similar to other drop-mount products, accommodates APs with internal antennas and offers a bracket for attaching AccelTex external antennas. The antenna brackets are adjustable, providing precise placement of Wi-Fi beamwidth patterns within the network environment.

The system’s primary mounting bracket was redesigned to work with all-thread, I-beam, gangbox and conduit mounting options, making it compatible with numerous installation environments.

Network refreshes, when required, are quick and easy. The APs can be swapped in place without the need for tools.

To remove the AP prior to replacement, personnel simply loosen the clamps and disconnect the Ethernet cable. Each clamp operates independently and is adjustable to fit all shapes. External antennas can remain in place depending on the AP that is being swapped.

The system is future-proof because the mounting system adapts to hold APs of different shapes and is easy to install and remove. Businesses are not restricted when choosing or replacing APs.
