Hubbell’s Growth through Acquisition

Over the past 60 years, Hubbell has witnessed both organic growth and growth through acquisition. Starting in 1960 with the Kellems division through our most recent acquisitions, we have become a diverse products manufacturer with strong brands and global reach - with sales in 2009 of approximately $2.4 Billion (85% US, 15% international) and over 50 brands.

Because Hubbell has been an integral part of the growth of the electrical equipment industry and a pioneer in the development of new products and technologies, we have established a foundation of basic strengths on which to build. Fundamentally, Hubbell Incorporated's commitment to the electrical equipment sector has enabled them to consistently maintain its focus and apply its energies to the technology of generating, transmitting and utilizing electrical energy and diversification of product and market provide additional flexibility.

Our network of independent wholesale distributors, who provide Hubbell products and their own expertise to the end-user, are a true asset. Some of those distributors have been associated with us since the early years, while others have joined as the industry and Hubbell portfolio of products expanded. Together, they form a partnership with Hubbell that has played a large part in the past growth, and has an integral role in our future.

Hubbell’s commitment to the industry, diversification of product mix and markets, a continuing tradition of quality combined with partnership with select distribution channels and accomplished research and development, have all forged Hubbell’s exceptional record of growth.

The same comprehensive capability will continue to expand our growth in the commercial, telecommunications, lighting, utility, industrial, and consumer markets as we move forward.
