00:02This video details how to terminate hubble's cobra lock termination jacks.
00:07The first recommended step is to feed the cable through the wire manager,
00:11then strip the cable jacket by scoring the outer edge of the jacket about 1 to 2 inches
00:15from the end, making sure not to damage the conductors.
00:18Once the outer jacket is removed, remove any non conductive elements such as center splines.
00:26Now that the inner wires are exposed, rotate the wire manager to match the label colors to
00:30the wire colors, minimize crossing of pairs, only one pair should need to cross another
00:37bend the wire pairs over and untwist slightly so that they can be pulled into their
00:40designated grooves, lock wires in place by pulling down on the free ends and cable jacket.
00:45During this step, make sure jacket and center spacer are at the bottom of the wire manager
00:49away from the termination plane.
00:51This helps with lasing by providing room for your thumb and ensures nothing will impede the
00:55wire manager for mating with the jack contacts.
01:03Next use flush cutters to cut the wires flushed to the sides of the wire manager.
01:08Then open the cobra lock and orient the wire manager so that the brown pair is facing up as
01:13designated on the jack latch. Place the wire manager into the jack,
01:16close the cobra lock until the locking tabs snap into place,
01:20securing the termination if needed, you can easily re terminate up to 25 times to unlock
01:27the cobra lock. Insert a small screwdriver in the area shown
01:30and twist slightly remove wires from the wire manager and then repeat the steps of this video.
