If you believe all the slogans, safety is everywhere. It’s “Job #1”, it “has no quitting time”, it “never gets a day off", and it’s certainly “not an accident.”
The fact is, safety should be everywhere. We all want to go home after work in the same shape in which we arrived.
This is especially true in the energy industry – our industry. A combination of powerful equipment, a dangerous environment, and many substances means that the energy industry must be focused on safety. One important aspect of safety is emergency notification and communication. When a hazardous event occurs, or is about to occur, it is imperative that the emergency notification system warns personnel of the danger, and that the communication system gives instructions and coordinates the response.
