HUBBELL CANADA

For high-touch surfaces and frequent cleaning

Our ScrubSwitchTM devices are the first sealed switches designed to withstand the rigors of medical cleaning solutions and stricter protocols and unlike toggle switches, the totally smooth plate surface offers bacteria nowhere to hide. ScrubSwitch devices are perfect for use in doctor and dentist offices, rehab facilities, schools, and in new construction or retrofit applications.

ACCESSIBLE

Works with just a tap and does not require skin contact.

DURABLE

Plates are impact-resistant to meet UL and CSA standards.

FOOLPROOF

Smooth plate surface is 100% sealed against liquids.

RESISTANT

Chemical-resistant and tested for aggressive cleaning.

The problem with toggles

The problem with toggles

  • The average patient room toggle switch hosts 112 bacterial colonies per centimeter. That's equivalent to a trash bin!
  • With so many nooks and crannies where bacteria can thrive, toggle switches are simply not designed to be disinfected. Gaps and seams between the toggle and the plate, even wall plate screw heads often can’t be cleaned properly.
  • Disinfecting solution can cause discoloration, cracking and damage when sprayed directly on the switch.
The solution is a perfect seal

The solution is a perfect seal

  • ScrubSwitch devices are the first switches designed to withstand the rigors of cleaning solutions and strict protocols.
  • 100% sealed and installs in a standard electrical box.
  • The totally smooth surface offers bacterias nowhere to hide.
  • Perfect for use in doctor and dentist offices, rehab facilities, schools, and in new construction or retrofit applications.
How the switch works

How the switch works

  • Simply tap on or off, just like a smart phone. But even better.
  • It works with a latex glove or an elbow in a sleeve. Simply touch the tap zone to activate lights and tap again to turn them off. The design limits accidental activation such as vibration, walking past, or standing nearby.
  • The 3R rated switch sits behind the plate which maintains a smooth surface as such that bacteria has nowhere to hide reducing the transmission of viruses.
Designed for frequent cleaning

Designed for frequent cleaning

  • ABS plates have been tested for aggressive cleaning and the switch remains ON or OFF while being cleaned.
  • Microban® antimicrobial technology in the plate material suppresses bacterial growth while releasing silver ions which disturbs bacteria cell walls, preventing reproduction, effective on over 99.9% unwanted microorganisms.
  • Plates can be disinfected using: bleach; hydrogen peroxide; alcohol/Quat; phenols; disinfectants and germicidal wipes.
Made for high-touch areas

Made for high-touch areas

  • Not just for use in hospitals—The switches are perfect for use in doctor and dentist offices, rehab facilities, and even schools.
  • The switches help hospitals and other facilities maintain high levels of cleanliness in high-touch areas that require more rigorous cleaning.
  • The switches can be installed in new constructions and for retrofit applications.
