These new straight blade duplex receptacles offer shorter bridge straps without ears to eliminate time associated with removing them manually. Additionally, shorter straps have the option for a standard opening or threaded screw hole. Both options relieve the user of having to manually remove the auto ground. Many applications require a condensed mounting strap to fit the device into hard-to-reach places. Previously the ears of the yoke had to be removed before installing the receptacles into tables, hospital head walls, generators, outdoor power distribution units, RACO® Crushed Corner Covers®, or in a prefab shop.
