Aclara's SmartFCI™ fault indicator can be used independently or alongside Aclara’s Grid Monitoring smart line sensors. This fault indicator is designed for a broad spectrum of circuit locations and boasts a straightforward installation process—requiring just minutes and a single lineman with a hotstick. The SmartFCI™ is a remotely configurable, single-model solution, eliminating the need to maintain an inventory of multiple models for different fault triggers or reset parameters. This line-mounted, battery-powered, all-in-one device eliminates the necessity for pole-mounted equipment or secondary power sources. Equipped with a pre-configured integrated radio, the SmartFCI™ does not require networking engineers for device setup. It efficiently communicates critical fault alarms and load profile data directly to SCADA systems using DNP3 or to Aclara’s dedicated Sensor Management System (SMS) software, ensuring comprehensive visibility of network conditions.
