Motor Operated AIS 4-Way Pad-Mounted Switchgear, 15 kV / 25 kV, Adaptable, Dead-Front Design

The Motor-Operated Padmount AIS switchgear provides utilities with an advanced and economical approach to automation. Hubbell’s solution is available for a multitude of applications including remote operation, remote supervisory, and full automatic source transfer and line reporting. This functionality adds Grid Resilience and Redundancy to be integrated into their underground systems. The Motor-Operated AIS can be easily integrated into SCADA systems, allowing end users to operate their switchgear remotely. Voltage and current sensors can also be included in the complete package for any remote supervisory applications, allowing utilities and end-users to monitor their systems via SCADA and detect faults and current/voltage irregularities. This allows for a proactive approach when scheduling maintenance, further reducing SAIDI numbers. For data centers, hospitals, factories, and other critical and essential facilities that require near-continuous power at all times, utilizing automatic transfer and automated switchgear, Hubbell’s motor-operated solution limits any interruption in power to these critical facilities. When a normal utility power source fails, Hubbell’s motor-operated automatic transfer AIS system can not only detect the drop through voltage and current sensing, but also automatically transfer the load to an emergency power source or alternative source. All of this can be monitored and controlled on SCADA connecting to the systems remote terminal unit (RTU). With the growing demands being placed on the Power Grid, introduction of renewable energy and industry trends moving more towards Underground Power, Hubbell’s Motor-Operated Padmount AIS Switchgear is a smart move for added protection, visibility, sectionalizing speed, and flexibility. Available for all AIS configurations with switch ways both in 15kV and 25kV voltage classes.
