The Versa-Tech® XC Recloser (VTXC) is the newest addition to the Versa-Tech® Single Phase Recloser Family. The VT-XC was developed on the VTII platform and has the same ratings but includes added features and enhanced operational functionality. As with the entire Versa-Tech® product family, the VT-XC is an electronically controlled recloser configurable with a User Interface (UI) through wireless or serial communications. The VT-XC has enhanced power harvesting capabilities which can power WiFi/Bluetooth or 900MHz Radio communications at lower line loads (6A vs. 10A). These enhancements also provide the ability to power Hubbell’s VT-powered cellular modem, which incorporates onboard SCADA communication. SCADA communication with the use of a Versa-Tech Terminal Unit is also available.

A direct replacement for traditional hydraulic single phase reclosers, Versa-Tech is a 29.3 kV, 125 kV (BIL), 400A, 8kA rated device that reduces inventory requirements. There is no grounding or maintenance required, and it is rated up to 30,000 mechanical operations. Versa-Tech benefits also include reduced dielectric issues and immunity to lightning strikes.
