00:09This video looks at the refinishing and repair of chance epoxy glass poles.

00:14First, let's look at the sanding and refinishing of an epoxy glass pole,

00:19inspect the pole for any damages such as impact areas that may affect the mechanical or

00:24electrical properties of the tool.

00:27If only sanding is required, use the abrasive pad emery cloth and moisture eater.

00:32Two cleaner solvent to remove the old finish.

00:35Once that is done, wipe the area down with moisture eater.

00:38Two to remove any contaminants, mix up the two part gloss restorer

00:45or pigmented orange finishing paint and pour into a squeeze bottle.

00:49Use a foam brush to apply a uniform coat on the pole, let dry for

00:5624 hours. And if additional coat is required,

00:58apply a second coat after the first is cured.

01:04Now, let's look at the patching of an epoxy glas pole except the epoxy glass bond patching

01:11kit per the instructions

01:18apply liberally in the damaged area.

01:22Smooth out using cellophane tape around the patch area to help let dry for 24 hours.

01:29Remove the tape and send the area smooth, reapply the gloss restorer to the patched area

01:35to seal the pole surface let drive for 24 hours.

01:41Next. Let's look at the installation of a universal

01:44head cut off the damaged universal fitting measure the depth of the universal fal

01:51sand. The pole from the end down the pole, the depth

01:53of the pal with sandpaper or emery cloth, wipe sanded area with

02:00moisture eat or two cleaner solvent to remove any foreign material.

02:04Mix up the epoxy Glas bond patching kit per the instructions.

02:09Applaud the epoxy bond inside of Farrell in the Senate area of the pole.

02:15Install Farrell to correct depth. Be sure.

02:17It's fully seated drill. 1 1964 hole through one side of the

02:24Farrel at the midpoint.

02:26Install spiral drop pin, wipe off any excessive epoxy that may have

02:33squeezed out of the feral.

02:39Last, let's look at plugging the pole and the installation of a butt swivel,

02:45cut the damaged end of the stick off to the desired length at cut end,

02:49remove the foam to a dimension of four inches.

02:52Use epoxy Glas plug kit, mix up epoxy per the instructions

03:00fixture the pole in vertically and pour the plug mix into the top of the pole let cure for

03:0424 hours sand the pole from the end down to the depth of the feral measurement with sandpaper

03:10or emery cloth, wipe sanded area with moisture eat or two cleaner solvent to remove any

03:15foreign material. Mix up the epoxy bond kit,

03:19individual packet or quart container for the instructions coat the inside of the butt swivel

03:24feral with epoxy and also the scented area of the pole,

03:28install the butt swivel onto the pole. Be sure it's fully seated onto the pole.

03:33Wipe off any excessive epoxy that may have squeezed out of the fre and smooth epoxy out

03:37around the bottom of the fre using a 1764 inch drill bit drill holes in the center of the four

03:43bosses, do not drill completely through the feral drill to a depth of about half an inch.

03:49After drilling the four holes, install the four flu to drive pins.

03:52Be sure that the pins are flush with the feral and do not protrude above the feral.

03:57Set the tool aside and let dry for 24 hours.

04:01All repairs and refinishing should be followed by electrical testing of the tool before

04:04putting the tool back into service.
