For instructions on updating product names:
Once you enable your iDevices products to work with Amazon Alexa in the iDevices Connected app, you can immediately control individual products with your voice. By default, Alexa recognizes the name given to the product during the setup process. Due to platform differences, rooms, services groups and Android groups are not synced from the iDevices Connected app to Amazon Alexa.
Groups may be created within the Amazon Alexa app, allowing users to combine multiple iDevices products and any other smart home device that works with Alexa. Once a group is created, you can use your voice to control those products simultaneously. For example, “Alexa, turn on bedroom,” may turn on all Alexa compatible products within the bedroom.
To learn how to create a group within the Amazon Alexa app, click here.
Resetting iDevices products and setting them back up again may cause Alexa to see both the new and old connections for your products. These multiple connections can cause Alexa to have difficulty controlling the product or may say there are multiple devices with the same name. To remove these previous connections, follow the steps below:
- Open the iDevices Connected app
- Tap the menu (☰)
- If you're using an Android device, tap "Settings"
- Tap "Home Assistants"
- Tap the email address or name that appears in purple below “Products Enabled”
- Tap "Log Out" this will clear all the connections to the account
- Tap the menu (☰)
- Tap "Home Assistants"
- Tap “Get Started” to sign back into Amazon and your current iDevices products will automatically relink to the account
- Run a discovery in the Alexa app or say "Alexa, discover devices"
Once the discovery is complete, ensure all unresponsive devices are removed from the Amazon Alexa app. In the “Devices” section of the Amazon Alexa app, tap on each product and delete any that shows “Device is Unresponsive." To learn how to delete smart home devices from the Alexa app, visit: Remove Smart Home Devices from Alexa

Alexa states, “I couldn't find a device or group named [name] in your Profile.”
If this your first iDevices product or you're adding an additional product to the Connected app, there are a few steps you will need to complete before Alexa will recognize the product.
Once your first iDevices product is set up, visit: Connecting iDevices Products to Alexa
If you have existing iDevices products connected to Alexa and you've added a new product, visit: Adding and Renaming Products with Alexa
Product name is not understood by Alexa:
Depending on what you named your device, Alexa may have a hard time controlling it. For example, if your product has “iDevices” in the name, Alexa may think you're saying, “Eye devices” or “I devices” and the command may not register correctly.
You can check the history of voice commands by following the steps here: Review Your Alexa Voice History

Apple HomeKit™
Products are able to be controlled using Siri immediately after completing the setup process.
When asking Siri to control a product, be sure to use the same name that shows for the product in the iDevices app.
Using Siri remotely requires an Apple Home Hub.
Be sure your product names and room names are unique from one another.
All of the iDevices HomeKit™ products support Siri®, letting users control each directly from an iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod touch® using just their voice.
After you pair your accessory and iOS device, you can control the accessory with Siri commands.
Supported Siri Voice Commands:
"Hey Siri, turn on the lights" or "turn off the lights."
"Hey Siri, turn on the coffee maker."
If you set up ‘Homes,' ‘Rooms,' ‘Zones,' or ‘Scenes,' you can use commands like this:
"Hey Siri, turn on the upstairs lights."
"Hey Siri, turn off Chloe's light."
"Hey Siri, turn on the printer in the office."
"Hey Siri, party time."
"Hey Siri, dinner party."
"Hey Siri, goodnight."
For some accessories, Siri commands will not work while your iOS device is locked. For example, you will need to unlock your device before you can use Siri to unlock your door.
For HomeKit features such as Siri voice control, an Apple TV® (3rd generation or later) is required for use outside of your home. Ensure Apple TV® is signed in with the same iCloud® account on your iOS device, and that Keychain® is turned on.
HomeKit™ is Apple's home automation platform for controlling smart home products using iOS apps and Siri® voice commands. HomeKit is automatically included in the operating system of all iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices with iOS 8 or later.
The iDevices Connected app is compatible with iOS 10 and later and is a HomeKit aggregator, meaning it will show and allow you to control any device that is HomeKit compatible (door locks, lights, etc.). The HomeKit platform allows changes to be made across the entire platform. For example, if you change the name of a product in the iDevices app, it will change in any app for HomeKit products such as the Apple Home app.
When a product is setup in the iDevices app, it's automatically connected to Siri through the HomeKit Platform. You can say things like, “Hey Siri, turn on my Switch!” and Siri will turn it on for you!
